From statistics to personnel and coaching staffs, teams don’t get any more similar than Muleshoe and Roosevelt, district foes that will open the 1-2A, Division I season at 7:30 p.m. today at Benny Douglas Stadium in Muleshoe.
Each team runs a spread-style offense with a senior quarterback who is averaging 200-plus passing yards per game. Each team has three players who have rushed for at least 100 yards this season, and both squads average 200-plus yards on the ground.
The Mules and the Eagles both finished the non-district season 3-0.
