Analysts project Tech tackle in top 3 rounds
NFL draft week’s been a quiet stretch of the calendar for Texas Tech the last six years.
Since the 2009 selection party, when the Red Raiders had one player in each of the first four rounds chosen from their 11-2 team of 2008, NFL teams have picked only four Tech players. The New York Jets taking tight end Jace Amaro 49th overall two years ago was the highlight.
The other three Tech players chosen in the last six drafts — Jamar Wall, Baron Batch and Will Smith — stuck around to rounds 6 or 7.
