Going from worst to first in Big 12 becomes defensive mantra
Terrance Bullitt’s takeaways goal for the Texas Tech football team sounds awfully ambitious.
“Well, our motto’s ‘Worst to First,’” the senior linebacker said. “That’s the goal we’re reaching. Last year, we were worst in the conference in turnovers, so it’s ‘Worst to First’ this year.”
Tech’s new coaching staff took one look at the Red Raiders’ dismal turnovers-gained statistic from last season and made it a point of emphasis from day one. Only two of the 120 teams in the FBS came up with fewer than Tech’s 11 fumble recoveries and interceptions.
