Steal, layup late against Cooper illustrates leadership abilities
In a tie game against Cooper with time winding down, Estacado coach Jeffrey Chatman implored his team to get back on defense, hoping to ensure a shot in overtime.
Senior guard Tramesha Wilson had another idea, because she noticed that the Lady Pirate bringing the ball up the floor wasn’t normally the one who did so. So she stuck around and made the play of the year for the Lady Matadors, picking Summer Bednarz’s pocket and driving for the game-winning layup.
It’s that kind of heady play that Chatman, in his first year at Estacado, said defines his point guard.
