Good surprises are most welcome in these troubling times.  To the surprise of many, President Jimmy Carter spoke well of President George W. Bush on Friday during the dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

The House has released an Interim Progress Report of the terrorist attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi and the assassination of Ambassador Stevens.  The conclusions included the assertions:  Hillary Clinton lied to Congress, there was a cover-up by the Obama Administration, and President Obama and others in his Administration lied to the American People.

President Obama’s Wednesday temper tantrum in the White House Rose Garden has shocked not only the American people but people worldwide.  This incident may be the beginning of a downward slippage of Obama’s popularity, as most people admire courage over uncontrolled anger from a blatant demagogue.

Flanked by family members of those killed in the Sandy Hook Massacre, President Obama berated the Senate, the American people, the National Rifle Association, and all who defied his efforts to further restrict the lawful ownership of guns by honest law-abiding citizens.  Obama was particularly unhappy with the Democratic Senators who opposed him.
