Lubbock police were investigating
seven robbery reports between May 2
and May 8.
n May 2. 1900 Ave. L. 1:20 p.m. A
woman reported a man threatened
her with a knife and said “give me
my dope.” The suspect then took the
woman’s cell phones and rode off
on a bicycle in the direction of “Tent
n May 6. 708 I-27. 2:55 a.m. A man
assaulted and tried to steal money
from a couple at the Pit Stop Club.
The suspect displayed a deadly
n May 6. 8002 Slide Road. 11:08
p.m. A man robbed a 19-year-old
woman while displaying a deadly
n May 7. 1600 21st St. 1:30 a.m. A
woman told police a man assaulted
her and forced her out of her vehicle.
Two men fled the scene in her silver
2003 Nissan Altima.
n May 7. 5201 Ave.Q S. Drive. 1:48
a.m. A man held a pistol to another
man’s head and demanded his wallet
from behind as the victim was loading
musical equipment into his van.
n May 7. 2918 Fourth St. 1:25 a.m.
Reuben Castillo, 34, was critically
injured after police say he was
punched and shot by robbers outside
the Fourth Street Sports Bar. He
was approached by three men, who
demanded money. When he refused,
they punched him in the face. While
trying to flee, one of the robbers shot
him in the chest.
