The vandalism of the Aggie buses in Lubbock is an embarrassment for the entire city. This black eye was further deepened on Monday morning when a local sports talk show host, known for using the word “booger” to describe most everything, made light of the subject. The fact this incident is being passed off as a harmless prank is quite disturbing.
Texas Tech should pay to have those buses cleaned and issue a formal apology to A&M. Tech should also consider starting its home games at 1 p.m. so these vandals don’t have the dark to cover their cowardly actions.

First off, there seems to be misconception that the prank involved a Texas A&M University bus or buses. The bus or buses in question were contracted by A&M from a Dallas company for the sole purpose of providing the Aggie football team with ground transportation in Lubbock. The A&M team traveled by air to and from Lubbock.
While some may view the use of shoe polish and stink bait as just a fun and non-serious prank, the fact remains that property owned by someone else was soiled by a person or persons unknown to the owner of the buses.
This event caused the bus drivers, and I understand some employees of the hotel to be called upon to clean the bus or buses. Those bus drivers were being paid to drive the buses. They were not employed to clean up a mess created by a prankster.
DOWN-PLAYING PRANKS
THE "DOWN-PLAYING" STARTED WHEN THE TOWN'S DARLING U.S. REPRESENTATIVE PULLED A VERY PUBLIC "PRANK" AT A TELEVISED U.S. CONGRESSIONAL ADDRESS BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
YELLED "BABY-KILLER" TO A NATIONAL AUDIENCE & THEN GOT PATTED ON THE BACK.
KIDS FOLLOW BY EXAMPLE OF THEIR ELDERS. THEY SEE HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS & THE LACK OF CONSEQUENCES.
