The Lubbock Independent School District board of trustees voted Thursday morning to adopt the “Make school boards to motivate legislators to work with educators to develop a school finance system that will properly fund public education.
The LISD joins more than 350 of the state’s 1,034 school districts that have adopted the resolution so far.
“We understand there are a number of issues facing the State of Texas (in the upcoming 2011 legislative session), and we understand the budgetary restraints faced by the legislature. All we are asking with this resolution is they keep education a priority,” said James Arnold, president of the board of trustees.

Everyone needs to be financially responsible.
How about budgetary restraints faced by those taxpayers that have just given LISD 198 million plus interest? Half of us were convinced of all the harm to be done and the substandard everything our kids would receive if we didn't vote for the bond. So, they've now got the money. And while on that topic...
...I also believe LISD just received 2.5 out of 5 stars for their own "bang for our buck" performance, that's a "50" or an "F" in teacher talk.

How about LISD assessing their own priorities--what they do with the money they receive from the taxpayers and the quality of students that don't drop out and do graduate?
Making education a priority does not mean that you need more money. But, now that you've got it...SHOW US SOME RESULTS!
The ball's in your court now (you just got $860,000 for those upgrades).
