Wildflowers are not just weeds pulled from the ground. To Zoe Kirkpatrick, they are flowers that have beauty.
Kirkpatrick, author of “Wildflowers of the Western Plains,” will share her love and knowledge of wildflowers Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Lubbock Lake Landmark, 2401 Landmark Drive.
She will give a speech about her adventures and will take the audience members on a wildflower walk. Those participating will learn firsthand what makes one wildflower different from another and how to identify the flowers.
Susan Rowe, education program manager and volunteer coordinator for Lubbock Lake Landmark, said many other events are scheduled throughout the day for National Trails Day.
Also, Rowe has added a night hike this year.
