Amarillo police are investigating a fatal Sunday morning shooting on Amarillo Boulevard, authorities said.

About 5:30 a.m., police responded to a shots fired call at The Legend, 600 W. Amarillo Blvd., and one victim died from gunshots fired at that location, said Lt. Erick Bohannon, Potter-Randall Special Crimes Unit coordinator.

Bohannon declined to give identifying information on the victim or any suspects involved and would not say whether other victims were involved, citing a pending investigation. Bohannon said he would release more information on the shooting later.

Police are asking anyone with information about this shooting to contact Special Crimes at 806-378-9468.

why???

And this article made it in the Lubbock Paper... why?

How is a localized shooting in Amarillo going to effect anyone but maybe .000001% of the people of Lubbock? Was the victim or shooter from Lubbock? did anyone from Lubbock witness the events? I highly doubt it. Just another prime example of the shoddy journalism from the Lubbock A-J. Can't get there own stories here in town so they have to copy and paste from other papers around the country as if it was local news and locally written.

Stranger Things of Little Importance Make It Onto the Frong Page

Today's front page photo and story surprised even the usually non-responsive people in a small grocery store this AM. The most important thing going on in all of the South Plains was something about TTU sports! Oh please! Our values are so skewed.

Worse, it's more than evident that males count in this region, or we're trying to prove they do. They don't anymore that females, and when it comes to higher education let's get with it, boys!
