Texas Tech defensive tackle Lee Adams has left the team, a Tech spokesman confirmed Monday.

Adams, a junior, left the program on his own accord, the spokesman said.

The transfer from Riverside Community College, who joined the Red Raiders in January, was unable to move up the depth chart during fall practice and was not on the two-deep lineup released at the end of fall camp.

Adams began his college career at Arizona State, where he played one game as a true freshman. He made 40 tackles, 12 for loss, with seven sacks last season at Riverside, where he was teammates with current Tech players Will Smith, SaDale Foster and Bruce Jones.
