Get with the program people, please !

leech - 1. a bloodsucking worm, 2. a person who is a parasite. All you have to do is go to yesterdays article about hiring Kliff and start at the first post and go forward; and total up how many times any reference is made to ANYONE (hance, leach, kirby, tuberville, bor, aggie, gray, longhorn, etc, etc, etc.....) other than Coach Kingsbury on the day 99% of Raiderland is rejoicing. No atonement or apologies are needed or wanted on this day. The small-minded hate-mongers known as leeachers (bloodsuckus parasitis) cannot let go of their no-life-living-in-the-past unhappiness. They are not Red Raider fans. They are not honest and most are probably closet orange cows. They have a hidden agenda to sabotage TTU and its athletic programs, and will never stop spewing their animosity and negativity. They will respond to this and all other Tech supporting posts with name-calling, lies, deceit, misquotes, distorted facts, and personal bias/prejudice; and they will claim their dishonest drivel is truth. NONE of us liked the way Coach Leach was fired, and I don't read anyone here extolling the virtues of kh@nce, and Kirby/Tuber weren't a part of that situation. And yet, these bloodsucking parasites will continue to badmouth our program, implying that a perceived injustice was done that can never be atoned for. They will carry out the execution of sentencing our football team to death in the name of only-their-opinion-counts-everybody-else-is-wrong-y'all-will-be-unhappy-with-us. NO, leeaches, YOU ARE WRONG and true red raider fans are joyous. We will refuse to live our lives in your petty vindictiveness. We will support our community, university, and its student athletes. We will grow intellectually and spiritually, and not live in the past. We will enjoy football on saturdays, and thank God men/women in uniform are defending our right to do so, and your right to be immature haters. Please grow up, or take your knee-pads to cougartown, and don't let the next haboob slow you down !!! WE have no need to unite or heal, but y'all are welcome to buy a t-shirt and a jersey and join us!

@pete

How do you really feel? Hopefully this will drive a stake right through the heart of Team Leach once and for all.

Quick quetion

What helmet is missing from the table in front of Don Williams? Did we loose another team this week and did not notice.

If you can find it, there was an interesting interview on ESPM today with Tiberville.

Hmmm

Killing off one another does not help. EVERYONE needs to let go.

Water over the dam...

As a Tech grad I have done time in the Jones in heat, cold, snow, wind, and rain. There have been games that put me over the top; beating Texas in 2002 and the best catch ever by Crabtree. Also, those that broke my heart.

That being said I enjoyed what Leach brought to the program and saddened by what Tubberville did not. We expected more this year but many teams would love to win seven and go to a bowl game.

I woke up early this morning and was blown away by the headlines about our new coach. When I came back from a university job in Kentucky in 2002 to work at Tech I really enjoyed watching Kliff and Welker. What great memories. Even Kliff getting run over by OU that year did not dampen my spirits.

So here is the deal. We have just received a gift from Tech admin folks. They looked this over and just what it would mean to fans and players to walk into the Jones and see Kliff once again. He brings more to the table that Tub or Leach. He will be a great fundraiser and PR man. He will give us the powerhouse QB's with skills and Air Raid will finally mean something again.

So give the Leach fans a break, even the few Tubbers around. When I walk across campus next fall I will do it with pride. The buildings are part of me as well as the grass, flowers, and of course the Jones. So I forgive all those who made a mess of a few things, and also redeemed themselves by this hiring. I thank Leach for his skills and forgive the lack of them. Those of us who wear the ring with "Strive for Honor" engraved on the inside along with those who just love the game and attend all the games, should rejoice, as a family does when a special son comes home..

@pete

Wow. You must have worn out the thesaurus and dictionary.

My take:

Spike = good dude, good coach at TTU (top 25 2x out of 13) Leach = quirky/irascible dude, very good coach at TTU (top 25 6x out of 10) Tubs = hypocrite, pitiful coach at TTU (top 25 0x out of 3)

Sure, KK will unite the fanbase. The question is who will recruit? Did he have any recruiting responsibilities at UofH or TAMU? Re TTU's existing recruiters, will they stay or bolt to UC or elsewhere? On the other hand, Leach didn't recruit well until his last years and it didn't stop him from having TTU consistently ranked in top 25.

Championships? Not happening for TTU football. Ever. "Pretty good" is as good as it gets.

You are one pathetic loser.

Sorry, I forgot you two

Yeah, thrash the ultimate hypocrite and gunz/brainz not shooting straight are charter members of lodo's longhorn loving leeaches loin licking lonesome losers. I'm not helping - wow, you might want to review your past posts before you stick your head in your hypocritical heinie and falsely accuse others of your behavior just because you wrongly never agreed with the truth. I can't recall you lending support or encouragement. Gunz, your brass brain casing is filled with lead. Either that or manure, hence the phrase excrement-for-brains. By the way, I don't believe any of us y'all constantly criticize are pro-hance, anti-leach, or pro-tuberville; I know I'm none of the above. I root for the TEAM, the current coach being a part thereof. Y'all have your agenda of spreading negativity all around the football program, we prefer to be positive and support the team. Yeah Coach Leach got a raw deal, and I have a good deal of distrust and disdain for career politicians, even more for democrats. But, it's in the past and we can't do anything about it, so it's counter-productive and harmful to morale and recruiting to obsess over it. Y'all's actions prove you don't have the best interests of TTU in your hearts. The student-athletes playing and the Tuberville staff had nothing to do with Coach Leach's firing, so why negatively impact them, unless that is your goal??

Why does the observation that

Tubs stunk it up drive some insane? Since Tubs' record was so poor, the only thing certain posters could do was unfairly denigrate Leach's record. Leach is done, actually, way past done. But for the inane comments about Tubs "improving" the program, we could dismiss Leach from the conversation. By definition, improvement involves a baseline, in this case Leach. 35% conf record v. 60%? No year-end rankings v. 6 out of 10? And the ridiculous comments about Tubs "improving the defense?" Really? In conf, Tubs' teams averaged giving up 39+ in regulation, well above his predecessor (29 overall). At TTU, Tubs was an abject failure on the field. Off the field, we're left w/ ponzi schemes, birther positions, vehicular manslaughter, "slapgate," recruits left at a dinner table, etc.

I don't understand why EVERY poster on this site won't admit, point blank, that Tubs' record was pitiful compared to Leach (Spike too, for that matter). I hope KK returns us to a consistently-ranked program, as with Leach. That would be good enough for me. And if he can progress past that level, I'll be cheering loudest.

Kliff is his own man

As much as this will quench some of the Leachers. Not that I didn't like Leach, but that is how we have been distinguishing the two factions. As much as this calms down the anger coming from one side, Kliff is his own man. He got some of his knowledge from Leach, some from his NFL experience and some from Sumlin. I live in SEC country and the offense he ran doesn't look like Leach's offense. It is a version of the spread, but when he has success I don't think we can chalk it up to, "it's because he played for Leach", like many will try to in Lubbock. Yes, Leach contributed to what Kliff brings to the table, but it will be product of what he has learned througout his career and what he himself brings to the equation. Also, to the fact that he will have some great recruits to work with, as he did in A&M. So that being said, I am looking forward to seeing what Coach K can do next year and I am looking forward to a possible 9 win season! Wreck'em Tech!!
