Texas Tech pitcher Chris Sadberry has agreed to terms with the Miami Marlins, the team that drafted him in the sixth round, according to an announcement Sunday by Tech.

Sadberry, a junior during the 2014 season, will give up his final year of college eligibility. He will report Monday to the Marlins’ spring-training facility in Jupiter, Florida, according to Tech.

Sadberry, a lefthander, went 5-3 with a 3.03 earned-run average this season. He made 17 starts, the most by a Tech pitcher since 2006, and threw a team-high 95 innings. He walked 25 and struck out 65.

He allowed two or fewer runs in 13 starts.

During the NCAA tournament, Sadberry was 1-1 with a 1.64 ERA. He limited the Red Raiders’ tournament opponents to 13 hits in 22 innings, walking six and striking out 18.
