Dee Paul has left Texas Tech in an attempt to go somewhere smaller.

“I appreciate coach (Kliff) Kingsbury giving me the opportunity. I was blessed to have it. I wanted to be somewhere like Munday,” he said, referring to his hometown of about 1,300 people. “I don’t want to leave Tech, but it was just time to go. I felt like I wasn’t really happy here and just wanted to go back."

The sophomore defensive back appeared in three games last fall, making one solo tackle and also appearing on special teams. The 6-foot, 165-pounder chose Texas Tech over Baylor, Oklahoma State and Southern Methodist.

an idea

Here's a novel idea! Transfer to a smaller school, get a part-time job, marry the woman who had his child, become a real father and man-up. Maybe learn a little about birth control along the way.
