A trip to Norman, Okla., solidified Madison Akamnonu's love for Texas Tech.
The four-star offensive tackle committed to the Red Raiders on Saturday — coincidentally head coach Kliff Kingsbury's 35th birthday — becoming the ninth member of their 2015 class. The 6-foot-5, 269-pounder chose them over Oklahoma, which he visited two weeks ago.
“To be honest, Tech's been my favorite for a while,” he said. “It was just that I wanted to make sure, so that's why I went to Oklahoma. It really put it into perspective that I wanted to go to Tech.”
The Arlington Bowie senior — the No. 295 player nationally and the No. 31 offensive tackle, according to 247Sports' composite ratings — also heavily considered Missouri and Texas.
