Best Buddies Walk scheduled for Saturday

The Best Buddies Walk will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at McCullough Park.

More than 90 percent of the money raised during the event will stay in Lubbock and go to Better Understanding of Down syndrome. The rest goes to the National Down Syndrome Society, a group that funds research.

Correction: The 2011 Lubbock Buddy Walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at McCullough Park. More than 90 percent of the money stays in Lubbock and goes to Better Understanding of Down Syndrome. The rest goes to the National Down Syndrome Society, a group that funds research. You may register online at buddywalk.kintera.org/Lubbock or arrive at 1:00 p.m. the day of the walk. The cost is $15 per person, and free for individuals with Down syndrome. You will receive a free t-shirt with your registration, as well as a ticket for the prize drawings. This walk does not benefit Best Buddies International.
