Tech signee Lollar doing well after eye surgery

J.J. Lollar had surgery on his right eye Thursday, and the defensive tackle signee said it was a success.

Lollar has been blind in his right eye due to inflammation and he will miss the 2012 football season as a result.

The A&M Consolidated product said his doctor was able to clean up the hardended blood in the lens of his eye and cauterize the bleeding vessels.

"He said I should have vision back within two weeks, hopefully," Lollar said. "And once I have vision back he wants me to wait two or three months before I start working out and then I'll be ready."

Lollar said he will try and make it to every Texas Tech football home game and he will be interning at the new College Station High School during the season.

"I think it will help me become more coachable," Lollar said, "seeing how coaches and players react to coaching."
