Junior Jakeem Grant was named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Tuesday, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced.
Grant is Tech's top returning receiver from last year. He averaged 12.2 yards per catch while recording 796 total yards on the season. His 65 receptions are No. 3 in the Big 12 among returning receivers.
He also finished with seven touchdowns on his way to earning 2013 All-Big 12 honorable mention accolades.
His selection marks the seventh-straight season where a Red Raider has been a preseason nominee for the Biletnikoff Award, which is presented annually to the nation's top receiver.
Eric Ward was previously named to the watch list the past two seasons. Alex Torres was selected in 2011, and Detron Lewis was selected in 2009-10.
Michael Crabtree won the award twice during his career following both the 2007 and 2008 seasons.
Tech has had a receiver on the watch list in nine of the past 10 seasons.
The 2014 Biletnikoff Award will be presented on Dec. 11 at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show. The winner is selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee which consists of 221 prominent college football journalists, commentators and former receivers.
Ten Biletnikoff semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 17 by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club and then three finalists will be announced a week later.
