Texas Tech is one of eight teams selected to play in the 2014 Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic that will take place in December in the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Red Raiders join Abilene Christian, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Loyola-Chicago, Boise State, Houston, South Carolina State and Southern Utah in the field.
Tech will play a pair of games at United Supermarkets Arena before heading to Las Vegas. The Red Raiders will take on South Carolina State in the first round on Dec. 17 and then Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the second round on Dec. 19 in Lubbock.
Texas Tech will face Loyola-Chicago in the third round at 7 p.m. CT on Dec. 22 at the Orleans Arena. Tech will then either face Boise State or Houston in the Championship Round on Dec. 23 that will be aired live on FOX Sports 1.
The Red Raiders went up against Houston last season at the Progessive Legends Classic and won 76-64. Overall, Tech is 7-2 against Houston in neutral site appearances.
Texas Tech has never faced Loyola or Boise State.
Past champions of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic include UNLV (2013), Colorado State (2012), Baylor (2011), New Mexico (2010), Alabama (2009) and Kansas State (2008).
