Obama Lives Like a Roman Emperor

Obama tells us that if only the rich and middle class would give up a few trillion more dollars to the IRS, all would be well.  Obama almost daily ridicules those who work hard to make honest money.  Obama tries to intimidate those who support his opponents.

Obama places himself above the American people as if he were our emperor, royal monarch, and dictator in chief all rolled into one.  Obama tells us that private airplanes are to be condemned and our vehicles should be so small and light as to achieve gas mileages equivalent to motor scooters.

Obama and his family are living high. Obama and his family have taken at least 17 official vacations since he took office, including a vacation to Spain for the first lady that set the taxpayers back almost half a million dollars and the 17-day family vacation in Hawaii that apparently cost taxpayers $4 million.  Obama condemns private jets but flies in his own 747 and has several support aircraft in his entourage.

Obama tells us we must conserve gasoline.  He travels with his limousine, 40 large SUVs and other large vehicles in his support entourage.  Barack Obama has the largest carbon footprint of any man in history.

The economic foundations of Western Civilization are burning and are on the verge of crumbling.  Emperor Nero fiddled and recited poetry while his troops burned Rome and he blamed the Jews.  Obama plays golf and lives in luxury while his failed Socialist economic policies are destroying not only the United States of America but also Western Civilization.  Obama blames George W. Bush, Jews and others who earn more than $200,000 per year, hard working Americans who do not pay enough taxes to satisfy him, and just bad luck for his leadership failures.

After Nero and others brought down Rome, it took 1,400 years for civilization to again reach the quality of life enjoyed by the Romans.  If Obama brings down Western Civilization, we would enter a Dark Ages from which humanity might never recover.  The conflicting survivors, Radical Socialism and Radical Islam, would rule the ensuing Dark Ages.

@May .........

May, you have already ranted on this. It's almost May (the month) and I guess like television, you are into re-reruns.

May: "Obama blames George W. Bush, Jews and others who earn more than $200,000 per year, hard working Americans who do not pay enough taxes to satisfy him, and just bad luck for his leadership failures."

Are you Jewish, May? Why is it George W. Bush, Jews and others? Why isn't it just everyone who earns over $200,000 per year. You make over $200,000 per year don't you May?

Are you trying to play a race card here?

But, back to point, why don't you submit a FIA request for the breakdown of expenses paid by the taxpayers and those that are paid by the President. Pick a President, Obama, Bush II, Clinton, etc, etc, etc. You are aware that Presidents are responsible for some expenses when they are on vacation, yes? Get back to us when you have that breakout of numbers instead of the "estimates" from where??? You didn't provide a source for those did you?

And while you are at it tell us about the $3,000,000 plus that Texas taxpayers paid to make Rick Perry safe during his failed bid for the presidential run.

Hello?

Vacations

The ONLY vacation Dr. May would be happy with the President of the United States taking would be a stereotyped chicken and watermelon party so he point his finger and declare, "See, typical blacks"

I will wait for the expected reply pointing out how the Democrats are bigger racists than the Republicans. Because, you know, "What about them?" worked so well in grade school, it should work just fine in the adult world.

@May Can you explain this?

May, how about the "perks" members of Congress receive?

"Congress: Living High on the Backs of Taxpayers

By KATHY KRISTOF, The Fiscal Times August 4, 2010

Ann Kirkpatrick is part of a rarefied group. With an annual salary of $174,000, she earns more than 97 percent of American workers. She’s also got a generous guaranteed pension, great health benefits, including on-site care, lots of free travel and an expense account that could make a corporate titan drool. She thinks it’s time that she took a pay cut.

Congresswoman Kirkpatrick, a Democrat from Arizona, recently sponsored legislation to cut Congressional pay because she doesn’t think legislators should live like kings when the rest of the country is suffering. If she’s successful, it would be the first time legislators have cut their own pay since the Great Depression.

“I think we should lead by example,” Kirkpatrick said. “As Congress considers where to make budget cuts to get our fiscal house in order, members need to do the right thing and start with their own pay.”

Even if Kirkpatrick is successful—a long shot—it would take more than a 5 percent pay cut to scale back the regal lifestyle of America’s elected representatives. While taxpayer unrest has caused legislators to lose some perks over the last few years, like free haircuts and subsidized meals in the legislative dining rooms, the litany of extras that legislative leaders enjoy are taking an increasing amount of cash out of taxpayer pockets even as the federal deficit balloons to previously unimagined levels, said Pete Sepp, executive vice president of the National Taxpayers Union in Washington, D.C. As the economy was crashing and companies were cutting back, appropriations for the legislature soared 17 percent over the past two years to $4.66 billion, according to NTU.

Worse, the full cost of legislative perquisites is impossible to estimate, says Paul Singer, associate editor and investigative reporter at Roll Call, a newspaper that’s covered the capital since 1955. That’s because legislative travel to foreign lands—like those “fact finding” trips to Italy—are so badly accounted for that Singer found a $30 million gap between the amounts legislators claimed to have spent when compared to what the U.S. Treasury said it paid for the same trips. Singer recently received a copy of a report done by the Congressional Research Service that underscored how sketchy disclosure requirements are for travel expenses.

When members of Congress fly on military jets, which is often, the cost is not recorded at all. Fly on Air Force One or one of the military’s many Gulfstream four jets and the cost is listed as a footnote — “military air transport” — on expense disclosure forms, as if it were free.

To be sure, a job in Congress requires some expenses that others don’t have. You need to have two homes, for example—one in your home district and one in Washington, D.C., where you work. And there are plenty of urban legends about the perks legislative leaders receive—including the fallacious notion that after as little as one term legislators receive a full salary as a pension for life. (Congressional pensions were scaled back in 1984, but even then, you’d only be guaranteed 12.5 percent of your pay after a single term.) Still the facts are starling enough. Here’s the true story of what we provide our elected representatives and how that compares to the real world......" http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Articles/2010/08/04/Congress-Living-High-on-the-Backs-of-Taxpayers.aspx#page1

The article continues.....

How much money do Lubbock taxpayers pay for Randy "Baby Killer" Neugebauer to entertain on his yacht? Do we pay to ferry his guests to his yacht?

Texas taxpayers are paying more than $10,000 per month so Rick Perry doesn't have to live in the Governor's Mansion.

How does the total "perks" Congress gets compare to Obama's vacation expenses?

At least we have seen flight expenses limited for

Supreme Court Justices Scalia and Thomas. The Koch Bros. have seen to that!

Great come-back's today!!!

WOW, let's all let Dr. May know what we think of his opinion today!! He is so anti-Dem., that it shows every time he post something! I used to work with Dr. May in surgery and I wish I knew then what I know now, I would have requested to go to another room, but, gladly politics never came up! LOL

frostyml, I'm very glad to hear that politics did not enter

May's surgery room. That actually brings him down a notch on the "NUT METER". By reading his blog, I would have thought otherwise.

“What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?” “A pit bull is delicious.” Pres. Obama at last night's White House Correspondents Association dinner......

Dark Ages

"After Nero and others brought down Rome, it took 1,400 years for civilization to again reach the quality of life enjoyed by the Romans. If Obama brings down Western Civilization, we would enter a Dark Ages from which humanity might never recover. The conflicting survivors, Radical Socialism and Radical Islam, would rule the ensuing Dark Ages."

Melodramatic pales to describe your conclusion above. "Dark Ages" must refer to ex-cons who refuse to see the light of day, and if there are survivors of these "Dark Ages", they will be Moderate Conservatives, Progressives, and Liberals digging up the fossilized remains of ex-cons from the dirt and fresher specimens from the snow caps and ice fields of the glaciers.

Radical Socialism and Radical Islam? Puh-leeze. Give everybody a break.

You make fun of Dr. May's

You make fun of Dr. May's "re-reruns" and then you provide an article that is almost 2 years old. Funny stuff.

At least you picked a good subject as everyone hates Congress.

"And while you are at it tell us about the $3,000,000 plus that Texas taxpayers paid to make Rick Perry safe during his failed bid for the presidential run."

Why does he need to mention this when Carol Morgan and you have on multiple occasions?

FOIA Requests

I think it was CBS that did a FOIA request concerning "The Fast and Furious" and either got nada or very little information back. Their report said that the requests were either denied in part or in full. One of their reporters also sent a request into the death of a border patrol agent who was killed in 2010. The requests were denied twice. While I understand the denial due to an open investigation, some of the information was released already by the FBI. According to the government site, they assign 3 tracks to requests (unless it is denied by them). Simple requests (requesting a document) take 122 days. More complex requests take 158 days (media requests), and then there are those fast track requests that take 48 days (for those that need information quickly because they have a hearing scheduled before an immigration judge).

@Billy Wayne Yes.....

Billy Wayne, yes that article was 2 years old and Congress has yet to fix the problem.

I selected that particular article because of the wording. It is perfect for someone like you, who is constantly encountering reading comprehension issues in what they read.

"...encountering reading comprehension issues in what they read."

As opposed to reading comprehension in what they eat? LOL

DOJ wont even release all the files to congress, prompting them to hold Eric Holder in contempt... its no wonder news agencies cant get ahold of any

Oblivious

as far as reading comprehension issues... you are the one who wont even believe a simple graph of oil prices when it is presented LOL so I would say you dont have a comprehension problem.. you have a information absorption block LOL

@Angela the graph.....

Angela, it's pretty easy to make a graph. If you know how to use MS-Excel, it is even simpler.

At that point the validity and the source of the numbers come into play, and then putting the proper title on the graph is next.

Oil production in the United States has steadily increased since 2008. I have provided a graph that shows that. The beginnings of that uptick began with programs that Bush put in place. The Obama Administration has continued those programs. Look back at what I posted previously on this along with the link to the source---which is from the oil industry.

Obama-more re-election fundraisers than previous 5 Pres combined

"Obama has held more re-election fundraisers than previous five Presidents combined as he visits key swing states on 'permanent campaign'"

Barack Obama has already held more re-election fundraising events than every elected president since Richard Nixon combined, according to figures to be published in a new book.

Obama is also the only president in the past 35 years to visit every electoral battleground state in his first year of office.

The figures, contained a in a new book called The Rise of the President’s Permanent Campaign by Brendan J. Doherty, due to be published by University Press of Kansas in July, give statistical backing to the notion that Obama is more preoccupied with being re-elected than any other commander-in-chief of modern times.

Doherty, a political science professor at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, has also analysed presidential travel to battleground or swing states, which change and fluctuate in number with each election cycle.

In their first years in office, Carter visited eight out of 18 battleground states and Reagan seven out of 17. Bush Snr, Clinton and Bush Jnr all visited around three-quarters of battleground states while Obama went to all 15 within his first 12 months.

@Billy Wayne Oh No!

Billy Wayne, should we be askeered? Romney has zillions of dollars, then there are the billionaire Koch Brothers, the rich dude in Vegas that was pumping millions in Gingrich's direction and more.......

The there is the Citizen's United decision that allows unlimited donations from "people."

Money isn't an issue in this campaign. Having a real candidate is, and Romney ain't it.

According to the latest analysis, Obama only has 7 battleground states to work on. So Romney, has 7 plus a bunch more.

Those are wonderful numbers from the "book", but what is the point? When Randy "Baby Killer" Neugebauer visits Lubbock, he has town hall meetings. I'll bet you can contribute to his next campaign at each of those........

BTW, you repeated two of your paragraphs above.....

7

Obviousman, you still have bad comprehension I see

The story I sourced is about the number of re-election fundraisers by Obama. Read much?

I noticed you didn't address the fundraisers. NO surprise there. No, you started up with a red herring again.

3

@Billy Wayne No...

Billy Wayne, why should I bother with your red herring information?

DUH!

@Obviousman

Please feel free to ignore anything of mine you consider to be a red herring? DUH!

6
3

@Billy Wayne...I agree....

Billy Wayne, I have no problem with that, since when I post links countering whatever absurdity you have written, you call my information links "red herrings." And of course, you never bother to visit those sites because you already know in advance you are wrong.

6
3

@May ...Back on topic.....

May, of course there are those who post here who go way out into right field....

Here's a question for you? How much will Romney's security at the Summer Olympics, cost U.S. taxpayers?

Don't worry, I will ask you in the next blog, if you don't answer it now.......

@Obviousman

"Billy Wayne, I have no problem with that, since when I post links countering whatever absurdity you have written, you call my information links "red herrings." And of course, you never bother to visit those sites because you already know in advance you are wrong."

In the above "encounter" you had ZERO that countered Obama's many fundraisers. That is why I called your comment a red herring! Get it?

Yeah, I know in advance that I am wrong. LMFAO

This is O-man being on topic

The articles are getting better and better!

Excellent work, Dr. May! Excellent!

Free speech is a wonderful thing.............. while we still have it!

J. Edgar Hoover did not refer to Communists as Red Fascists for no reason!

Tammy Bruce, an exDemocrat stated over the weekend on the Laura Ingraham Show that, when she was a Democrat, she and other Democrats fully counted upon Moderates and Conservatives to remain quiet while the Dems pushed their agendas.

With the coming of Tammy Bruce, conservative talk radio now also includes courageous liberals who will not be silenced. Ms. Bruce refers to herself as conservative now, but the truth is that the Democrat Party moved so far left into fascism, there is no liberalism left. Communist Progressivism rules the day in the Democrat Party which is why so many people are leaving it. And in droves.

Conservative talk radio is actually Radio Free America that gives a voice to all points of view. No wonder the Progs want it shut down through the use of the Fairness Doctrine. It's opposite day everyday in the USSA.
