The Texas Tech basketball team has added an eighth member to its 2012 class.
Trency Jackson, a 6-foot-2 guard out of Northwest Florida State College, signed a letter of intent Monday to play for the Red Raiders next season, his coach, Steve Forbes, announced on Twitter.
As a freshman, Jackson helped guide Northwest Florida in March to the NJCAA title game, where his team fell to undefeated South Plains College.
Jackson, a native Jackson, Miss., averaged 10.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists last season. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
