The Texas Tech men's basketball team will kick off December with a bang at United Spirit Arena.
The Red Raiders will host traditional power Arizona on Dec. 1 to open a home-and-home series that will have the Red Raiders traveling to Tucson, Ariz., during the 2013-14 season.
The matchup against the Wildcats will be one of three marquee non-conference games for Tech, which will also host Arizona State and Alabama.
Arizona ended its season with a loss in the NIT last season, but with one of the top recruiting classes in the country -- it was ranked third by ESPN and includes four ESPN 100 players -- the Wildcats could be a top-10 team when they visit Lubbock.
Arizona is a program with a fan base that travels well, which could lead to a Saturday night full house at the USA.
Tech has yet to finalize its 2012-13 schedule, but those three games against major-conference schools alone bring more punch than the Red Raiders home non-conference from last season, which didn't feature a BCS opponent.
