Chron.com: James, Leach talking, but not about each other

David Barron of the Houston Chronicle catches up with former Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach and ESPN analyst Craig James, who are now fellow announcers and litigants in a civil lawsuit:

"As he takes a break at the ESPN cafeteria in Bristol, Conn., Craig James is more than willing to talk about mega-conferences, politics, real estate, parenting, SMU and even what he describes with a laugh as the Curse of Craig James.

Mike Leach, who just signed on as an analyst with CBS College Sports, is happy between stints at the network's Chelsea Piers studios in New York to think about quarterbacks, New Age pioneer Edgar Cayce, sovereign immunity and the value of a handshake and a man's word.

Neither will discuss the other, which is common practice for litigants, even in so public a case as Leach's lawsuit against Texas Tech, which fired him last year following a contentious contract negotiation and a public dispute involving the treatment of James' son, Adam — a receiver for the Red Raiders."

Tuberville's Day of Reckoning Approaches

Sunday week for Tuberville. He is the current favorite to win all his games except one. He is under more pressure than any coach in America. The cupboard is brimming full. Wish him the best.

Whatever

You expect a lot from a man who has only been in charge about 8 months and who's dealing with all the difficulties a coaching transition brings. He's experienced, he's working hard, he's been successful.....and I'm glad to have him.
