ESPN Big 12 blog: Tech still 4th-best Big 12 class day before Signing Day

The big day is so, so close. National signing day will get started bright and early Wednesday morning, but it's time to take a look at where the Big 12 teams sit with one day left before players can officially sign.

This will change quickly in the next couple days, but here's how they look before things get real crazy. Here's how the rankings looked two weeks ago, when we last updated the Big 12 scorecard.

This scorecard is written in pencil. Tomorrow, players will sign in ink.

Ooooh, FOURTH best in conference...

That'll really get us to that next level, a national title team that was promised when Tubby was hired.

"He'll be a TOP recruiter!"

Fourth best in conference, 25th overall.

I haven't seen him outcoach anyone since he's been here (unless you consider making us appear to be such a weak team OU overlooked us last year good coaching), and now the recruiting edge he was supposed to bring isn't showing up either.

Gads.

Top 15 national class

After the dust settled last year, we had a top 15 recruiting class last year. This year's signing class has been ranked in the top 15 nationally (I would expect a top 25 after the dust settles), and we had a bad season last year. It typically takes a little more than one year to see the results of getting highly ranked high school recruits.

NATIONAL RECRUITER

At least Tubs is a recruiter. Two top recruiting classes. That's more than I've ever seen Tech. Keep going strong, , the classes will eventually pay dividends. There's going to be surprises tomorrow and Tech will land another great bunch.

Better Results Coming

I know last year did not go well for us but I believe next year will be better. We have a bunch of young players that played last year and Tech is returning more staters than anyone else in the Big 12. Actually, ranked in top 10 in the nation as bringing back the most starters.

@ wanttostayafan

If you wanna be a real fan you will stop spewin crap such as that. Or are you really just that shallow?!? First of all we aint 4th in the conference we are actually 3rd if you will as atm aint in OUR conference any longer. According to rivals.com UT is #2, OU is #6, and Tech is #24. TCU slid out of the top 25 last week after couple of lost defections and nobody else in BIG 12 close to top 25 caliber. ANd that is out of the NCAA top Divison 120 + teams. Coach Tub and staff has worked their tails off landing us the #11 ranked team last yr and #24 team this yr. And that is fantastic recruiting with the 5-7 record we had last yr. But that is because good hi quality kids like the Raiders and like our facilities and really believe in coach Tub and staff. Those are the top two recruiting classes Tech has ever landed back to back! First the work and then the benefits. It will all fall into place for coach TT in good time. I am hoping for 8 and maybe 9 victories this yr. Who knows. I know I will most definitely be at the Raider-Froggie game at TCU this fall.

Recruits are great but the

Recruits are great but the severe lack of quality coaching we've seen the past two years makes the slightly improved recruiting a wash...another sub-par year and recruiting will dry up in a hurry. I hope he worked his tail off recruiting I just wish he would put in the same effort coaching.
