Mike Leach evidently is not impressed by the leadership qualities of Washington State's seniors.
Unhappy with the Cougars' 2-4 start, Leach ripped some of his seniors for their lack of veteran leadership during a recent news conference, comparing them to "empty corpses" and "zombies."

Add commenta team is a reflection of its
a team is a reflection of its coach.....in this case it is led by a pirate zombie
So, texas 100
What does that make Tubbyville?
Who cares
Leach is gone let him go. Who cares what he says because he never has anything to say that is important. He needs to take a look in the mirror and listen to himself talk before he calls anyone else a corpse or zombie.
Funny
Not that big a deal.... Let's spin this!!!! And splatter it.. That's why we like him. LOL
Go Tech
So Leach sneezes and Lubbock
So Leach sneezes and Lubbock catches cold. Why is this in the AJ? Did the AJ follow Steve Sloan at Ole Miss as closely? Seriously, did they?
Pat Knight
Pat Knight called out his seniors last year after they had lost 3 of 4 and were pretty much at a point they had to win their conference tournament to get into the NCAAs. And it made headlines everywhere. They won 6 in a row, including the conference tournament, and did just that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The article has nothing to do with anything other than it being a "coach speak" story. And Leach is known for those. Let's not get all worked up over every Leach story. We are coached by Tommy Tuberville. I think people finally grasp that.
Different
Different coaches say different things to motivate. Remember the coach has to get "his people" in place to win. At least thats what we've been told. It may be hard to imagine but, depending on the individual, old school coaches can get results with insults. Another coach about a year ago was basically calling his players slow and uninspired on his radio show. Whatever works I guess for guys making millions to win. I would say, being a fan of the winningest coach in Tech football history, his guys, zombies included, better start recording Ws before seasons end. His "magic" aint working in Pullman. Much like someone elses magic wasnt working last year. Still find it interesting that people who preach that we should move on cant resist the urge to get a dig in on a guy that put Tech on the football map for the majority of the first decade of this century. I hope Tubs can far surpass that. He hasnt yet, but things are looking promising. Even the guys on the fm sports radio station who have been leading anti Leach cheers since early 2010 were not critical of his "zombie" remarks. When I first heard them I kind of thought is was a vague excuse. Kind of a way of subtly throwing the guys he didnt recruit under the bus. But thats just me.
