AJC.com: Recruit de-commits from Cincy, calls it 'bad situation' (Raider Buzz blog)

Pebblebrook High School defensive back Demetrius Monday de-committed from Cincinnati on Thursday after never hearing from new coach Tommy Tuberville.

“I think it’s messed up,” his father, Bryant Monday, told the AJC. “You wait until a few weeks before signing day to say something? They could have told us a month ago.

“Now we’re left with less than a month until signing day to figure something out. He had other scholarship offers but he hasn’t talked to other coaches in six months … since he committed to Cincinnati on July 25.

Hey, AJ!

Tuberville is dead to us. You were the ones in his back pocket the entire time, now you want to try to post anything and negative about him you can find.

Lubbock does NOT care about this loser.

chill guy...it's just a news story and an interesting one. No one is or was in anybody's back pocket.

Well someone thought that these kids were good enough to play college ball. I say call 'em and have them send their game tapes. If we get two good recruits out of it thats great. Plus both the players and TTU have an incentive to do well without Tubbs.

I'm not surprised.....

Anyone want further proof as to the lack of class, etc etc of Tubbs? This is his MO. As I recall, he did the same thing 3 years ago with some of Leach's recruits. I may be wrong but this seems like something I heard back then.

No, you don't do people this way, not if you're any kind of classy person or quality individual. Getting the staff together isn't an excuse for behavior like this. I feel bad for those kids and their dreams having to be put on hold. I agree with Thrash......let's look at their films and see if they might want to be/could be Red Raiders.

Anyone who would get up in the middle of a diner with recruits like he did, then pull this on people deserves everything else that he gets. Personally, I hope he completely bombs out at Cinn. If he does, and I think he will, maybe he'll do college football a huge favor and retire and disappear.

What goes around comes around Tubbs......maybe someone will re-visit and re-investigate the financial mess you made of some investors lives......you know, the one where you defrauded people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars......you've gotten away with being a snake oil salesman far too long.

Thank the football gods that we don't have to suffer thru another off-season wondering how bad the program will be this fall.

Yes the AJ could do nothing but sing his praises. Shame on you.

Wreck- Em in 2013!!!!!!!!!

You're right ... it's just a game, and "chill" is usually a good concept ... but the AJ (and Admin and ~5 posters on this site) were MOS DEF in Tub's back pocket, as BSB correctly notes.
