If we're an open society, judge's gag order in Fort Worth makes no sense

We get nervous when government tries to limit access in our open society. Here's another example that's very disconerting ...

I agree with Jim Witt, Star-Telegram executive editor, who said "This is prior restraint, and they can't do that."

I agree

In an effort to avoid a mistrial (jurors hearing or reading things about the case, other than that which is presented in the trial), the Judge is probably overreaching. Instead of keeping the general public in the dark, the remedy is to ensure the jury is properly sequestered -- hard and expensive to do, but it is the preferred solution.

Hypocrisy

Limiting access, censoring content and suppressing information is something the AJ does all the time, in my honest opinion. What's it called when you criticize another for doing something that you do all the time?

@Terry Greenberg

I see Judge Berry backed off and now is in line with U.S. Supreme Court 1st Amendment decisions.
