Tech delivered one of its finest single half performances of the season, leading Colorado 37-19 at the break.
Jordan Murphree sank a third consecutive field goal at the 14:36 mark to put the Lady Raiders up 16-2 and capped a 16-0 run.
Murphree’s 3-pointer at the 15:30 mark gave her more points than the two she scored in the loss at Oklahoma.
A turnover and fastbreak layup for Chucky Jeffery to start the game looked ominous for the Lady Raiders, but Tilmila Martin sank a three to put Tech back in control.
Colorado was unable to score for more than five-and-a-half minutes while the Lady Raiders were on their 16-0 run. Brittany Spears, Colorado’s star forward who averages nearly 20 points a game, was held to just three in the first half.
The Buffs shot just 17.6 percent from the floor against Tech’s 43.4 in the first half. They were also outrebounded 26-19.
