The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses recently presented the 2010 Award of Excellence in Community Service to Linda Brice, associate professor in the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Nursing.
Brice was recognized for her dedication to improving the lives of women and newborns through community service.
Brice has raised $74,500 in baby items for the 2010 Stork’s Nest Baby Shower, which benefits Lubbock mothers. Over the past eight years, she has raised $253,300 for this event.
Brice also has organized events such as Women in Science Endeavors, the Teen Straight Talk Program on Sex Education and Teen Pressures, and the Heart 2 Heart Community Health Fair.
