Wildlife center offers free program Tuesday
The public is invited to see some area wildlife up close during a free event hosted by the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and the Llano Estacado Audubon Society next week.
The wildlife center’s “Wild Side of Lubbock” one-hour program begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center at 4215 University Ave.
Guests are welcome to bring their cameras and children to meet some of the wildlife ambassadors including hawks, owls, vultures, a pelican and some mammals who live at the center or live in and around Lubbock. Guests may also enjoy some refreshments as they take pictures and visit the animals.
There will be an opportunity to speak to wildlife center volunteers and the new operations manager.
