Senate candidate Cruz speaks at lunch
Ted Cruz, former Texas solicitor general and current U.S. senatorial candidate, will speak at The Lubbock Area Republican Women luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the Lubbock Women’s Club, 2020 Broadway.
Cruz served as the solicitor general of Texas from 2003-2008. He was the youngest solicitor general in the nation, the longest serving solicitor general in Texas, and the first Hispanic solicitor general in Texas.
Cruz has also served as director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, an associate deputy attorney general at the U.S. Department of Justice, domestic policy advisor on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign and adjunct professor of law at the University of Texas School of Law.
Cruz is a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Houston.
The LARW cannot endorse candidates in the Republican Primary, and meetings do not imply endorsement by the LARW, according to a news release from the organization.
The luncheon costs $15.
