A two-vehicle collision Tuesday evening on US 87 and Woodrow Road sent six people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A communications operator with the Texas DPS in Lubbock said a Pontiac van was traveling southbound on U.S. 87 and ran the red light. A Chevy Cavalier traveling westbound on Woodrow Road struck the vehicle.
EMS was notified at about 6:37 p.m., he said.
Dora Espinoza, 41, of Lamesa and Maribel Mireles, 20, of New Home were involved in the collision. The operator said he believed Espinoza was the driver of the Pontiac, and Mireles was the driver of the Cavalier.
No other names were available. The operator said one of the females involved was pregnant, but he did not have details.
Six people were transported by ambulance to hospitals, the operator said. Five went to University Medical Center, and one went to Covenant Medical Center.
A UMC house supervisor said Dora Espinoza was transferred to the hospital and was still being evaluated at about 9 p.m.
A Covenant supervisor said Maribel Mireles remained at the hospital at about 9 p.m., and her condition was undetermined.
