Woman critically
injured in crash
Lubbock police were investigating a tractor-trailer versus SUV crash with critical injuries Friday morning in the 4100 block of Slaton Highway.
Tamara Timmons, 47, was transported with critical injuries to University Medical Center after the crash about 10:38 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Slaton Highway and Olive Avenue, according to Lubbock police.
Investigators believe Timmons was driving a Jeep SUV north on Olive Avenue and attempting to cross the highway when she failed to yield the right-of-way to a westbound Peterbilt tractor-trailer.
The tractor-trailer collided with the SUV, forcing the SUV off the roadway and into a large rock.
The tractor-trailer’s driver, 51-year-old Dennis Mitchell, was not injured.
