Texas Tech’s April 1 spring football game at the Ford Center in Frisco has sold out, the athletic department announced Thursday.
The Ford Center, which seats 12,000, is part of The Star, the Dallas Cowboys’ new facility that opened in 2016. It serves as home to Frisco ISD teams.
“We can’t thank our fans enough for their support of our football program,” Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt said in Tech’s announcement. “As I’ve said before, The Star is a perfect setting to showcase our football program and our university. The support of our fan base makes it even more special and I know our coaches and student-athletes can’t wait to play in one of the premier athletic facilities in the country.”
The game will air on Fox Sports Southwest Plus and the Fox Sports Go app.
The game starts at 3 p.m. Pre-game events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with tailgating permitted in lots surrounding The Star. The game will be shown on an outdoor screen on an adjacent plaza for fans who didn’t get tickets.
Tech will have spring football events open to the public on three consecutive Saturdays: March 25 at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland, April 1 at Frisco and April 8 at Jones AT&T Stadium.
