Dixie Park of Lubbock departed this life on June 10, 2010 at the age of 67 years. She was born in Tahoka, Texas on February 26, 1943 to L. A. and Murl (Akin) Forsythe. Dixie married Jerry Park on June 10, 1989 in Lubbock, Texas. Dixie worked for Dr. Paul Johnson, DDS, Red Lobster and Boston Chiropractic before retiring. She was a beloved member of Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 21 years, Jerry; two daughters, Gail Lara and husband Alcario of Lubbock, TX and Cindy George and husband Kevin of Mesquite, TX; one son, Mark Howle and wife Laura Lea of Lubbock, TX; two step-daughters, Peggy Barton and husband Steve of Garland, TX and Sara McLaughlin of Lubbock, TX; nine grandchildren, Brittany Lara, Kelsey Lara, Lexie George, Austin George, Kyle Barton, Sean Barton, Miranda McLaughlin, Leann Goolsby, and Walter DeRidder; two great-grandchildren, Zoie Lara-Contreras and Zylia Barton; and two brothers, Larry Forsythe and wife Nancy of Tahoka, TX and Jerry Forsythe and wife Jeanie of Tahoka, TX.
Mrs. Park is preceded in death by her parents.
A Visitation Service will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 13, 2010 at White Funeral Home in Lubbock, TX.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2010 at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, TX.
