Memorial Services for Olivia B. Gonzales, 60, of Slaton will be Saturday, July 17 at 10:30 a.m. in Englunds Chapel under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Olivia was born on May 1, 1950 in Slaton, Texas. She died July 13th, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas. She graduated from Slaton High School. Olivia married Elex Escobar Gonzales March 27, 1970 in Post, Texas. They began their marriage living in Lubbock until 1979 and moved to Slaton.
Olivia was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She worked for the Lubbock State School, Texas Instruments until their closing and then in Home Care.
She was preceded in death by twin boys, Ed & Eddie Gonzales, in 1972.
Olivia is survived by her husband, Elex of the home; two sons, Mark and Santos Gonzales, both of Slaton; one granddaughter, Savanna Gonzales of Slaton; her niece whom she raised, Sylvia Vergara & family; three brothers, Raymond, Jessie and Sam Garcia, all of Slaton; three sisters, Lupe Davila, Maria Pinkert, both of Slaton, and Paula Martinez of Tahoka.
