Services for Elvira Stone Upchurch, 91, of Lubbock, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16th, 2011, in the First Baptist Church, New Deal, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Gaines County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, Texas.
Ms. Upchurch died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, in Petersburg, Texas.
She was preceded by a son, Eldon Upchurch, in 1997, and eight siblings.
She is survived by four children, Alvin Upchurch and his wife Martha, Peggy Overby and her husband Jim, Judy Loude and Vivian Gay Jaquess; three siblings, Mary Cozart, Raymond Stone and Harold Stone; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
