DaNita Suzette Buckley, 40, of Lubbock passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 at Covenant. She was born March 30, 1970 to the parentage of Isiah and Ruby Buckley. She attended Lubbock Public Schools and graduated from Estacado High School. DaNita was recognized throughout her school years for academics, sports, student council, and most of all her melodious voice in choir.
She attended Texas Tech University to pursue a degree in Business. Relocating her from West Texas, to East and West Coast states (Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona), she continued her commitment in Business. After several years the she decided it was time to return back to her home front, Lubbock. She worked for McLane Distribution, followed by Texas Tech University; in which she was employed for over 9 years. Within those years she continued travel through her employment, now outside the United States(Chau Doc, Vietnam, Shanghai, China).
She is survived by her parents, Isiah and Ruby Buckley; one sister, Anitra Smith (Kevin); and two special nephews, Kaderek and Isiarius Smith; grandmother, Artavie Bradley; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at Oakwood Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Garden Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
