Back during the preseason, I asked Texas Tech baseball coach Tim Tadlock if his team could be markedly better this season but it not show in the overall record because of how strong the Big 12 Conference is this season.

The first half of the Big 12 Conference schedule did Texas Tech no favors. It forced the Red Raiders on the road for three of their first four series. Tech survived, winning one series and not being swept in any of the others.
