For the last several years we have put up an artificial Christmas tree. It’s a lovely tree, but it’s not a real tree.
It’s metal, and plastic, and wires, and color coded parts. It’s massive, and it takes a small army to carry it and piece it together. It’s like something you’d see at Rockefeller Center or the White House lawn, only fake.
This year we were determined to have a real tree, so on the day after Thanksgiving, we went Christmas tree shopping. And we found an even lovelier real tree at, of all places, Walmart.
