Outside linebacker Daniel Cobb, who was Texas Tech’s third-leading tackler last season, has been dismissed from the team, according to an announcement Sunday.
Cobb was kicked off a violation of team rules, Tech spokesman Blayne Beal said. He would not elaborate.
Cobb is a junior from Killeen Ellison. Though he started seven games last season and made 70 tackles, he was not a sure thing to be in the playing rotation this season. Cobb wasn’t in the two-deep at the end of spring practice and was fighting for a backup spot in preseason workouts.
