Former Texas Tech star Michael Crabtree will be in attendance Saturday when the No. 20 Red Raiders host Texas, a Tech spokesman said Tuesday.
Crabtree, the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver, will arrive Saturday morning and lead the team to the stadium during its traditional “Raider Walk” in advance of the 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
Crabtree, a two-time Biletnikoff Award winner at Tech, provided perhaps the most celebrated highlight in school history when he caught a last-second touchdown pass from Graham Harrell to lift the Red Raiders to a 39-33 win against No.1 Texas inside Jones AT&T Stadium during the 2008 season.
Tech has not defeated Texas since that memorable game.
San Francisco, currently in first place in the NFC West, has an open date this weekend, and Crabtree is coming off his best game of the season. The fourth-year pro caught five passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-3 win against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night.
He has 39 catches for 440 yards and three scores this season.
