On Wednesday, after Texas Tech hired Kliff Kingsbury to be the next head coach, several athletes who are committed to sign with Texas Tech voiced their excitement.

“I think it was a good decision,” said Dallas Christian athlete Justis Nelson. “I like the fact that he’s been a part of Tech, he’s played sports at Tech. I think that will give him more motivation to do well.”

Nelson, who played both wide receiver and cornerback for Dallas Christian, has stayed firm in his commitment to Tech through the whole process.

“Lubbock is just a great place,” Nelson said. “I love the environment. I love the city. The coaches there are great. I guess it just has that ‘it’ factor. I want to be there. I’m going to stick to my commitment.”

I know there will be

neigh sayers, but overall I think this is a good choice. And I think the majority of students/alum/fans feel the same way. That wasn't the case 3 years ago.
