No Thursday
assignment
Big 12 Conference football programs agreed to each play Thursday games as part of the league’s new television contract, but Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt doesn’t believe the Red Raiders will be affected in 2013.
“We have not been approached, as of today, to play on a Thursday night this season,” Hocutt said Tuesday. “I don’t anticipate any of our games this year getting moved to a Thursday night. However, that is something we as a league have had to embrace as we move forward as a conference.”
Stadium update
According to Texas Tech research, the high-definition video scoreboard being installed at Jones AT&T Stadium will be the eighth-largest in college football, athletic director Kirby Hocutt said Tuesday.
Tech’s will measure 100 feet wide and 38 feet tall.
Hocutt said drilling for installation of the support piers started Tuesday.
“That project continues to move along on time and on pace,” he said.
Work on the steel support structure is scheduled to take 90 days.
Ribbon boards will go on the north and south ends of the stadium and in the northeast and northwest corners. The installation of video boards, ribbon boards and sound system is expected to take place between June and August. The projected cost of the video project is $11 million.

... can they say that?? I enjoyed the humorous interlude, but I have some questions. Did this occur up at 'WingWangs' or over at 'Wok Yu's'.
And wots the deal with Thursdays? Are we not good enough for a mid-week game? Or do we not suck bad enough to get pushed into it?
However many support piers the engineers say we need, add two more.
And did Yu's brother Phok really go out of business because they wouldn't let him put his sign up?
