Texas Tech announced Wednesday the 2013 season opener against SMU and debut of new head coach Kliff Kingsbury has been moved up a day to Friday, Aug. 30 at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas. The kickoff time will be 7 p.m.
The game is being pushed up a day to accommodate ESPN’s national television broadcast.
Tech beat the Mustangs 35-27 in the 2010 season opener at Jones AT&T Stadium.
It is the first Friday night game for Tech since 2002, when Kingsbury quarterbacked the Red Raiders to a 49-0 rout of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

we're recruiting LB's in Alabama, things are looking up !! Seeing what happened at A&M, I wouldn't be adverse to joining the SEC. They need two more teams to reach 16.
Not me...
I like the separation with a&m.
As for the Tech-SMU game.......I'll be there!

Freedom of speech
I know, I know, we have freedom of speech; however, could you please not mention any previous game scores from when the Auburn coach was here.
TTU 35 SMU 27 Three thoughts on this score. 1) We gave up 27 points to SMU?! 2) WE ONLY SCORED 35 POINTS AGAINST SMU?! 3) I thought it was SMU that received the death penalty, not my beloved Auburn Red Raiders.
Come on, August. Get here soon!
