Going national

Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury appeared on an episode of the pop culture show E!News that aired Tuesday. Much of the two-minute segment dealt with show hosts Terrence Jenkins and Giuliana Rancic comparing the physical resemblance between Kingsbury and Ryan Gosling, calling the Tech coach “a dead ringer” for the Canadian actor.

Both are in their early 30s, have similar hairstyles and beards and favor skinny ties. Not to mention, they seem to sport the same sunshades.

“It’s a nice compliment,” Kingsbury said on the show. “It’s not like there’s a bunch of supermodels in this profession, so you kind of take it with a grain of salt.”

E! News bills itself as a source for entertainment and celebrity news.

Kingsbury said he’s heard the Gosling comparisons more and more since the Red Raiders’ recent nationally televised games.

Regarding his fashion preferences, Kingsbury said in the interview, “I like Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger. I guess it’s not the norm of coaches to dress on that side of things, but that’s who I am and I’ve never wanted to change that.”

Other ground covered in the segment included the all-gray uniforms the Red Raiders recently wore and the clause in Kingsbury’s contract that gives him creative license regarding team apparel.

As for the Gosling comparison, Kingsbury called him “a great actor” and wouldn’t mind meeting him.

“I’m a big fan of his,” Kingsbury told E! News, “so yeah, I’d definitely welcome that.”

After the segment aired, Kingsbury’s agent, Erik Burkhardt posted on Twitter: “Already received call (for Kingsbury) to participate in Houston Fashion Week for major label.”

Somebody wake up Williams. We want to know about Brewer.

I'm guessing there is nothing ...

... new to report on the QB situation. And if you are going to spend that much time talking about this Gosling character, can we at least see his picture in the article.
