Tech's final opponent, No. 21 Baylor, is coming off its own historic upset of the Sooners - a 45-38 victory that came on a last-minute drive led by quarterback Robert Griffin III.
The brightest moment of Texas Tech’s football season was a 41-38 upset against then-No. 3 Oklahoma on Oct. 22.
That victory put the Red Raiders on the map. National media came calling, and Texas Tech went from receiving no votes in The Associated Press poll to No. 19 overnight.
Since then there have been few bright spots and no victories for Tech. On a four-game losing streak for the first time since 1992, the Red Raiders are still sitting at five wins and at risk to miss a bowl for the first time in nearly two decades.
