Tech alumni set to host benefit for Jennie Bailey Kliff Kingsbury is one of hundreds of Texas Tech football players who have come to know Jennie Bailey like family during the past three decades. As a Tech football administrative assistant and player mentor for the past 27 years, Bailey’s is a face several generations of Red Raiders have looked to with a smile before practice, after a game or doing their daily routines.

Texas Tech is expecting more than 20,000 fans to attend Saturday’s spring game, but on Tuesday the Red Raiders had another reason to be excited. Tech picked up its first offensive line commit of the 2014 class in Cibolo Steele’s Deionte Noel.

Le’Raven Clark won’t try to hide it. He admits he was among the Texas Tech offensive linemen who were clutching their knees during the first few practices of spring camp late last month. “Those practices were taxing everybody,” Clark said with a laugh. Tech’s 6-foot-5, 303-pound left tackle said Monday he is beginning to find his legs now, and he believes the rest of his teammates up front are doing the same, evidenced by the strong finish during Friday night’s scrimmage, when the offense scored on eight straight drives.
