Weworski named top golfer for month

Texas Tech junior Tyler Weworski, who led the Red Raiders to their first team title of the spring season two weeks ago, on Wednesday was named the Big 12 Conference men’s golfer of the month for February.

Tech won the UTSA/Oak Hills Invitational, led by Weworski finishing in a tie for third with rounds of 67, 67 and 76.

At the spring opener in Kona, Hawaii, he took fourth place, shooting rounds of 70, 65 and 69. His second-round 7-under 65 was the third lowest round in Tech history.
