Former Texas Tech junior forward Jordan Tolbert is transferring to SMU, according to scout.com.

Tolbert is originally from the Dallas area and attended Fort Worth All Saints where he averaged 17.4 points and 11.5 boards per game.

He could be eligible to play immediately because he’s moving closer to home to be with his mom after his dad recently passed away.

As a junior, Tolbert has one year of eligibility remaining.

He made the decision to transfer to SMU after visiting over the weekend.

SMU will play Minnesota on Thursday for the NIT title in Madison Square Garden.

Looking forward to next season Emanuel Mudiay, the No. 1 point guard in the country in the 2014 class, has already committed.

Nice recruitment SMU

Something you have always been good at and getting Kimball players grades changed (Kevin Frazier). Did Craig James help?
