Texas Tech had to find a way to win Saturday afternoon in the United Supermarkets Arena.
Hawaii took an early 11-point lead and kept fighting back late in the second half, but a defensive switch and some much needed offensive efficiency helped the Red Raiders capture an 82-74 victory.
“We’re finding ways to win,” Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith said. “We’re doing the little things you have to do to win. I think this team has matured, and that’s why we were able to pull out a game like this.”
